I’ve spent over 20 years in healthcare and have watched wave after wave of promising technology come and go. AI feels like it should be different. But the results are not always there.
I think it’s because many organizations are implementing AI the same way they implement software.
The schoolbook playbook is the 3 Ps: secure the Platform, assign the People, set up the Process. It works for tools. It has worked, more or less, for decades.
Apply that playbook to AI and you may slightly move the needle. But you will never see the game-changing impact you were promised by the the AI vendor. And most organizations stop there, wondering why.
Here is the mistake many are making: AI is not a platform. AI is not a tool.
AI is a new intelligent entity entering your organization. And when a new intelligent entity joins, you don’t onboard it like software. You re-engineer around it. You hire differently. You rethink your platform from the ground up. It is a full stack transformation, not an integration project.
